In addition to unparalleled Thursday through Saturday entertainment featured at Penguin’s, we have the privilege of discovering new talent from the Midwest while supporting the local arts community through our monthly AMATEUR NIGHT.
Amateur night is typically held the last Wednesday night of every month year round, however, we are pleased to inform you of our current AMATEUR COMEDY CONTEST!
Admission to the General Public (must be 21 and over with valid I.D.) is $3, with all promotional general admission coupons honored. Wednesday nights, we feature 2 FOR 1 WELL DRINKS AND DOMESTICS, and $3 BURGER BASKETS, courtesy of Balls & Pucks Sports Bar right next door!
Beginning Wednesday September the 24th, and continuing every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm throughout October, Penguin’s will be hosting our Fall 2008 Amateur Comedy Contest, with finals to be held Wednesday, October 29th. Contestants should sign up 30 minutes in advance; $10 entry fee, payable in cash, to be presented at sign up. Each contestant should have 5 to 7 minutes of material prepared. Weekly winners qualify for the finals, with all other contestants able to participate in subsequent weekly events if they so choose by simply entering once again. First, Second, and Third place winners in the Finals event will receive not only CASH prizes and various Freight House “Night on the Town” dining and entertainment packages, but will have earned the opportunity to perform as Guest Hosts at Penguin’s Comedy Club!
